Book Review 1

What Book I have chosen?

The book I have chosen to read is about a guy who was in the army called James Wharton, it is about his life in the army and his personal life about being a gay man and in the army.  The book as been given some very good reviews on Waterston's website, because of this I have pick this book to read as I am gay myself and I would like to find out what it was like for him being gay and in the army life.

One of the reviews?
Touching & authentic”
Hardback edition

I really enjoyed this book. The author's voice felt authentic and true. It gave a fascinating insight into the military and was very reassuring about the basic decency of most people who work in that profession. The book was particularly moving because it demonstrated that ordinary lives can become extraordinary.

What I think of the book so far?

So far I have read to chapter 5 I am finding the book very interesting and interesting, I find that the way author of the book has been very honest and raw with the way he has written his life's story so far.  I am excited to read more of the book as I has me wanting more as it is getting more interesting.

How I am doing with my reading?

I believe that I am going good with my reading of my chosen book as I have been able to read it when I have a spare moment and when waiting for my mum finishing work and in between lessons so far.  I hope to complete the book within another 3 week as I would like to take my time when reading my first ever official book.

Stage 2 Action Plan

What I need to do?

I will need to find a book that will interest me, then I will need to go and buy the book and then read it chapter by chapter.

Advise I might get?

I will be able to get advice from my lecture Doug McAdams and the lesson he was teaching as about how to review and summarise a book to recommend to the Librarian.

What resources do I need?

The resources I will require to carry out my problem solving.  I will require a book that I find interesting and appealing to me that I want to read, I will then need to get a bookmark to help me keep my place and I will also require time to read the book at launch or when I have a quiet moment or when I am waiting for my mum to finishes her work or in my spare time if I have any spare time.

What are the limitation I might face?

One of the limitation I might have for reading my book will be time as I will need time were I am able to get a chance to read so of the book with out interruptions.

Stage 1 Critical Thinking

What is the problem?

The problem that i have is that i have never read a official book ever in my life,  i would like to take it upon my self to solve this problem.

What are the main factors effecting me?

The main factors effecting me are that when i start to read a book that i loss interest very quickly, i also don't like the fact that it is in uniform print and monotone colors.  I also think that i have not pick a book that is interesting to me in anyway that wants me start reading it so i give up.

Suggested way to solve my problem?

i will have to pick a book that is interesting to me, plus from a genre that i have never tried to read from before that is about something a i find interesting.  Another way to solve my book reading problem is to only read a chapter or two every night and in my spare time.

What might help me find a book to read?

The one thing that i think that might help me pick a book to help me solve my problem we be the book review lesson on the 26th January 2016,  this class will help me find a book that has good review that is interesting to me and find on that i would like to read  and appeals to my interests.
